Mèh

I had never read anything by Stephen King before this, but I had seen some of the movies based on his work. This book is well-written, especially the characters, but I feel it could have been much better than it is.

The plot is okay. We learn right in the beginning that a senior couple is responsible for the people that go missing. I just wish it was either funnier or scarier.

One thing that annoyed me was the frequent use of brand names to describe things. A new millionaire walks into a bar...

As always, Stephen King is absolutely masterful with his writing. Characters are phenomenal and believable. King is able to present a evil but this time, the evil is not supernatural and ever so present. Great read and I loved how he tied it to current events and made everyone so human. I am excited to read his previous mystery books related to Holly Gibney and her former mentor!! Great story and I was invested in finding out what happens!

Oh and the narration by Justine Lupe is top notch! One of best narrations I have heard!
